HELPFUL HINTS
We recommend reef booties, wetsuits and helmets for protection as,
like
most of Indonesia's best waves, they break hard & fast over coral
reef.
Bring sunscreen, hats & rash shirts for protection from the
sun. There is malaria in this region of Indonesia however it is very
rare that mosquitos get out to the boat. We take every precaution to ensure
there are no mosquitos onboard. Whether or not you take anti-malarial
drugs is up to the individual. Consult your doctor, listen to their
advice, weigh up the pros & cons & then make your own
decision.
Bring a good range of surfboard lengths. A 7'6" should be the
biggest
board you will need. Stronger glass jobs can help as these waves can
break boards. A small fibreglass repair kit is a good idea for dings as
well as resin that cures in sunlight (like Solarez etc.)
Sandals or reef boots are normally good enough for beach walks / trekking.
